This is officially my first blog post! Pretty exciting in my opinion actually, since I really don't know what I'm doing. So anyways, tomorrow is my last day in the great ol' USA until I board 2 planes to make it to Israel! I start out in Pittsburgh and then go to Philly. I have quite the layover in Philadelphia, which makes me a little upset because I will not get to explore the city with my time to kill. I have always wanted to try an authentic philly cheese steak. boo...maybe next time.
After my wait, I will board a plane to Israel! This 11 hour flight will most likely take its toll on me, but I'm sure I will be too busy being excited than to even bother begin to feel tired. I will be staying on a Kibbutz in Northern Israel with a group of people around my age that I have yet to meet. I am excited to get to know these people and hope that we all become fast friends! woot. That was for sure a little cheesey, but you'll have that sometimes.
So packing for this 5 month adventure has become one all in itself. I did make it work eventually in my 2 new duffle's from llbean. I do have to add that the colors of the bags are kinda awesome as well.
As you can see, I have quite the mess to put into these two bags and keep each one under 50lbs. Should be fun, wish me luck...
So I will for sure be missing my mom the most, but I will def be missing my new puppy Juno. She is only a year old and I adopted her a little over 4 months ago. She will have to survive with just my mom (oy!) and then enjoy a brief vacation in Columbus when she stays with my friends Demee and Andrew for the month of February. I hope she doesn't miss me too much. Aww, aren't we cute?
So I suppose that's all for now. I'm so pumped to get to Israel and start this life changing adventure where I will be able to give back in a way that I have never had the opportunity to do so before.
